The course focuses on the education of students with social disadvantages. The curriculum is based on the broad concept of social disadvantage, which in an educational setting includes any barriers to a student's education arising from socially determined causes. Attention is paid to the specificities of education and support measures for students from socially disadvantaged areas, students with a different mother tongue, students from families at risk of poverty and students from marginalised ethnic minorities.

The aim of the course is to introduce the broad concept of social disadvantage (including not only the effects of poverty, but also the lack of educational support for pupils in the home environment, language barriers, etc.) and its impact on students' education in pre-school, primary and secondary education. As part of the course, students gain a basic understanding of possible support measures and other potential interventions in the education of students with social disadvantage.
