The aim of the course is to develop students' language skills at the C1+ level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The course focuses on linguistic accuracy, fluency and complexity of one´s language expression, systematically expanding vocabulary, including collocations, idioms, phrasal verbs and abstract concepts. Students are encouraged to understand vocabulary as a system, and their knowledge in this area is expanded to include less frequent phenomena occurring in the texts under discussion. Modality Adverb and Adjective Collocations Dependent Prepositions and Phrasal Nouns Tense, Aspect and Voice Gerunds and Infinitives Collocations and Word Knowledge

The credit

1. active participation in seminars (80%)

2. continuous performance of the tasks assigned during the semester

3. credit test (two parts: grammar and vocabulary - a minimum of 70%; language skills (reading and listening) - a minimum of 70%; each part needs to be passed)

The two parts are assigned at the same time (date), however, each is evaluated independently. The student must pass each part with a minimum of 70% pass rate.
