Following the theoretical basis from the field of literary theory, linguistics (parole disciplines) and TEFL methodology, the aim of this course is to introduce the ways of using L2 literary texts in the EFL classroom in both Lower and Higher Secondary Schools. Students will be acquainted with various methods and techniques for the use of authentic texts in order to develop not only the communicative competence of their pupils, but also their motivation for the acquisition of L2, their cultural awareness and a sort of feeling for aesthetic qualities of literary texts. Students will work with texts reflecting their pupils? age, level and interests (using nursery rhymes and poems as well as fiction).
