Annotation -
The aim of the course is to introduce students to selected chapters in the development of theatre and film, and to give them a basic insight into the interdisciplinary relationship between literature and music. The seminar will not only focus on methodological issues, but will also, wherever possible, highlight the current repertoire of theatre and film. In addition to studying extracts from plays, films and musical compositions, the course includes visits to performances at the German-language Film Festival (Das Filmfest) and the Prague German-language Theatre Festival (Prager Theaterfestival). The content of the course includes the following topics: creative postulates of theatre and film in comparison with the possibilities of the literary text. Narrative of literary, theatre and film texts. Analysis of specific authors and works, comparison of literary and theatre or film versions of texts. Attention will be paid to plays by, for example, M. Frisch, F. Dürrenmatt, T. Bernhard, P. Handke, E. Jelinek, etc.

Studující:

  • se seznámí s vybranými kapitolami vývoje divadla a filmu,
  • ovládne jednoduché a výkonné nástroje, jež usnadňují recepci a analýzu divadelních představení a filmů,
  • získá základní vhled do problematiky interdisciplinárního vztahu literatury a hudby,
  • pozná aktuální repertoár divadelní a filmové scény,
  • navštíví představení dle vlastního výběru.

Learning outcomes -

Studierende:

  • gewinnen einen grundlegenden Einblick in die interdisziplinäre Beziehung zwischen Literatur und Musik,
  • interpretieren vertieft einen Text, in dem die klangliche Komponente der Sprache betont wird, benennen und typologisieren die klangpoetischen Mittel,
  • lokalisieren musikalische Motive in einem Text und ordnen ihnen die richtige Funktion im Rahmen der Sinnsuche zu,
  • erkennen die Elemente der Aufführung, ihre Anordnung und die Beziehungen innerhalb der Inszenierung,
  • beherrschen einfache und wirkungsvolle Instrumente, die die Rezeption und Analyse von Theateraufführungen und Filmen erleichtern,
  • finden sich in der zeitgenössischen Theaterszene (einschließlich des weniger konventionellen und experimentellen Theaters) zurecht,
  • besuchen und interpretieren ausgewählte Theateraufführungen.
