Subject Computer network is a basic subject content area of field of study focused on the issue of design, function and use of local, respectively. large, data transmission and computer networks. The aim of the course Local area network is primarily to acquaint students with basic theoretical starting points for the development and structure of computer networks, their services and technical building blocks. The course is also in the basic practical skills in the management of networks in the most used NOS, including the important issue of security .. Among the topics discussed include the basic concepts and distribution of computer networks, network topologies, the OSI layer model and TCP / IP, TCP / IP, IPX / SPX, NetBEUI and others, transmission media, addressing, network protocols and routing in computer networks, RFC , active elements in the structure of computer networks, characteristics of NOS (Novell Netware, Windows NT/2000/XP, Unix-like OS), client solutions in the usual OS, basic principles of governance, security, configuration and operation of the NOS and client software.

Předmět Počítačové sítě je základním předmětem obsahové oblasti studijního oboru zaměřené na problematiku koncepce, funkcí a využití lokálních, resp. rozlehlých, datových a přenosových počítačových sítí. Cílem předmětu Lokální počítačové sítě je seznámit studenty především se základními teoretickými východisky tvorby a struktury počítačových sítí, jejich službami a technickými stavebními prvky. Součástí předmětu je též uvedení do základních praktických dovedností při správě sítí v nejvíce používaných NOS včetně důležité problematiky jejich zabezpečení.. Mezi probíraná témata patří základní pojmy a rozdělení počítačových sítí, topologie sítí, vrstvové modely OSI a TCP/IP, protokoly TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, netBEUI a další, přenosová média, adresace, síťové protokoly a směrování v počítačových sítích, dokumenty RFC, aktivní prvky ve struktuře počítačových sítí, charakteristika NOS (Novell Netware, Windows NT/2000/XP, OS Unixového typu), klientská řešení v obvyklých OS, základní principy správy, zabezpečení, konfigurace a obsluhy NOS a příslušného klientského softwaru.
