Course:

The Theory and System of Pedagogical-Psychological Counseling

Mapping of a historical development of counselling in the Czechoslovak period and abroad. Introduction into

theoretical background of counselling theories in a view of counselling theory and practice.

Course contents:

The goal an the importance of a counselling profession. Counselling outside school, specialization in

counselling.

Counseling goals and definitions.

Counseling process and its stages.

Counseling theories: psychodynamic counseling, individual psychology, behavioral counseling, gestalt

therapy, reality therapy, person-centered counseling, transactional analysis, cognitive-behaviour therapy.

Individual and group counseling.

Ethical aspects of counseling.
