In connection with the subject Russian literature it broadens the possibilities of work with the artistic texts when using contemporary textbooks, it establishes tighter links with students' second major (second subject in their teacher qualification). Depending on students' individual needs and interests it can be focused on up-to-date problems of literary science, on advanced level it takes the function of diploma seminar. During the pedagogic-psychological semester it offers the possibility of preparation for the exam in Russian 19th century literature.

V návaznosti na disciplínu ruská literatury rozšiřuje možnosti práce s uměleckými texty s využitím stávajících učebnic, zajišťuje těsnější sepětí s druhým aprobačním předmětem. Podle potřeb a zájmu studentů; může být orientován na aktuální literárněvědnou problematiku, ve vyšších semestrech plní funkci diplomního semináře. V pedagogicko-psychologickém semestru poskytuje možnost prohloubené přípravy ke zkoušce z ruské literatury 19. století.
