This course is primarily an introduction to the word stock of contemporary English. It explores both word formation and lexical-semantic dimensions. Moreover, it is a survey of the historical development of the English word-stock, and provides an introduction to lexicography.

Tento kurz uvádí studenty především do studia slovní zásoby současného anglického jazyka. Zahrnuje jak oblast slovotvorby, tak lexikální sémantiky. Nadto se studenti seznamují s historickým vývojem anglické slovní zásoby. V náplni kurzu je též úvod do lexikografie.
