Annotation

English

The course will help students to get familiar with advanced topics in linguistics, especially syntax, semantics, and pragmatics, but also psycholinguistics, stylistics, sociolinguistics, and historical linguistics. Most topics will be addressed from the perspective of traditional linguistics and, where appropriate, also from the formal perspective of mathematics and computer science. The course is centered around the discussion of important linguistic papers and books. Cílem přednášky je seznámit studenty s pokročilými tématy z lingvistiky, zejména syntaxe, sémantiky a pragmatiky, ale také psycholingvistiky, stylistiky, sociolingvistiky a historické lingvistiky. Na většinu témat bude nahlíženo jednak z pohledu tradiční lingvistiky a jednak formálně z pohledu matematiky a informatiky. Kurz je zaměřen na diskusi o důležitých lingvistických pracích a knihách. Předpokládá se, že studenti mají základní znalosti lingvistiky, které poskytuje například NPFL063 - Úvod do obecné lingvistiky.
