Principles of spectroscopy with high time resolution (mainly femtosecond) is the topic of lecture. Techniques of
ultrashosrt light pulse generation and their properties are reviewed. The overview of a variety of spectroscopic
methods, their principles and applications (in semiconductor physics in particular), is a core of the lecture. In
addition, the progress of attosecond optics and spectroscopy and time-resolved electron microscopy are
discussed.
