Annotation -

The subject is linked up to the basic course of Landscape Ecology which is obligatory in the bachelor study. It is
aimed at deepening of knowledge especially as to new topical trends in landscape ecology and its application in
practice of landscape planning, landscape protection and landscape management. The attention is paid to data
and information sources used in contemporary landscape ecology, to the landscape metrics and its practical
application as well as methods of landscape geodiversity and biodiversity assessment and their interrelations.
Basic principles and methods of landscape planning and landscape typology aimed at landscape character
assessment, planning ecological network, land use planning and forest planning is an integral part of the course.
