The optional lecture focuses on the use of the Earth's remote sensing in the environment in the broader context of natural sciences. The lecture includes chapters on development and historical contexts, data structures, basic methods for processing satellite imagery, aerial imagery and data obtained by laser scanning. In addition, there are headings focusing on the use of remote sensing methods in estimating air pollution in urban environments. The presentation of individual approaches to data processing is based on the methodological materials Leica Geosystems, ENVI, Definiens, ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute) and research publications. Basic knowledge of English language is required to cope with the exercises. The lecture is also available in the MOODLE.
