Annotation -
Advance 5-day field course provides students with processes forming sedimentary rocks. Emphasis is given to identification of sedimentary structures, sediment body geometries, facies and stratigrahic boundaries interpretation. Students will acquire strong skills in recognition of the rock composition, sedimentary structures, paleocurrents and will be able to interpret these data in terms of sedimentary history.

students must attend field excursion in person; and must be able to discuss their notes, protocols, measured sections and other field data and their interpretations with teacher

Entry requirements -

To successfully attend the course, basic knowledge of geology and sedimentary geology is needed. Mandatory prerequisities are these courses: Field course in geology, Basics of petrology of sedimentary rocks and Sedimentary geology. Recommended courses comprise Advanced petrology of sedimentary rocks and Geology of sedimentary basins.
