This course represents a discussion platform designed primarily for PhD students and highly motivated master
students to cultivate their openness and criticism to new or extraordinary ideas and to enhance their general
overview regarding the broad variety of geological, paleontological, and general science topics. It is a form of rhetorical practise. The course
consists of three sessions per semester, each will focus on a different topic.
This course is for Ph.D. students and highly motivated master students.
The course will be open when there will be at least 8 participants. It is because this course is mainly designed as a "general" discussion platform.

Tento kurz představuje diskusní platformu určenou primárně pro doktorandy a motivované studenty magisterského
studia. Jedná se o rétorické praktikum. Kurz má za úkol rozšířit obzory účastníků co se týče široké škály geologických, paleontologických ale i
všeobecných vědeckých témat a zároveň kultivovat otevřenost a kritiku účastníků vůči novým nebo neobvyklým
tématům. Kurz zahrnuje tři “sezení” během semestru, přičemž při každém sezení bude diskutováno jiné téma.
Předmět je určen studentům doktorského studia a motivovaným studentům magisterského studia.
Kurz bude otevřen při naplnění minimálního počtu účastníků - 8. Je to z toho důvodu, aby bylo možno vést "obecnou" diskusi o vybraných tématech.

Three sessions in each semester. The topics will be specified well in advance. For each topic there will be literature provided, consisting of one or two scientific papers. The participants will have to critically read these papers before each session to be able to actively discuss the selected topics.

Kurz je tvořen třemi setkáními během semestru. Témata budou upřesněna s předstihem. Pro každý tematický okruh bude poskytnuta literatura sestávající se z jednoho či dvou vědeckých článků. Účastníci jsou povinni si tyto články nastudovat a kriticky zhodnotit, aby následně byli schopní aktivní debaty a diskuse o vybraných tématech.
