Arising from the integration of basic aspects of demographic research into selected spheres of the practice, the main objective of the course is to provide a view of the growing utilisation of demography and demographers when controlling the development of modern society and to help the students overcome the existing gap between academic research and practical activity. Given the diversity of real conditions, the questions of practices and their solutions are to a large extent unique. This was why in the concept of the course a major place is occupied by case studies. Through them, the students are familiarised not only with possible spheres and specificities but also with general features of the application of demography. |
