The teaching is focused on questions of the content of the curriculum of selected thematic units of chemistry at the level of elementary and secondary education and their innovation from the point of view
the requirements of curricular pedagogical documents, the current state of development of the field of chemistry and the possibilities of application and usability of the curriculum in practice. Attention is paid to classical and new chemistry curriculum and different ways of transforming this curriculum. The course is taught as a two-hour block of lectures and seminars. Contents of Chemistry Subject Matter and its Innovation ends with credit and an exam. To gain the credit, the student has to be present at 80% of lessons and to be active at the seminars. The exam requires preparation of a chemistry education theme for upper grammar schools and its presentation.
