Curriculum / Topics:

The student expands and further develops their portfolio of activating methods:

  • Activating Methods: C-M-I-A-R-E cycle
  • Critical Thinking and Methods for Its Development (RWCT): E-U-R cycle
  • Working with Educational Videos (e.g., silent video, one-word method, INSERT table, etc.)
  • Inquiry-Based Learning: Levels, 5E model
  • Mobile Applications
  • Educational Objectives and Working with Them: Bloom's taxonomy of objectives
  • Learning Theory
  • Phases of a Lesson (motivational, expository, fixation, etc.)

The student...

… becomes theoretically familiar with a selected activating method based on the available literature.

… prepares a lesson segment in which they appropriately incorporate the selected activating method.

… compares and critically evaluates the selected activating methods.

… states the advantages and disadvantages of the selected activating methods in chemistry teaching.
