Learning outcomes -

Learning outcomes:

  • The student will identify key aspects of experimentation in chemistry education.
  • The student distinguishes between a student experiment and a demonstration experiment and can assess the applicability of specific chemical reactions to the needs of a student experiment.
  • The student applies knowledge of workplace safety in the preparation of a demonstration experiment.
  • The student classifies chemical reactions and physical processes and discusses their use in school practice.
  • The student performs and presents experiments in inorganic and general chemistry to develop laboratory skills.
  • The student demonstrates basic skills for conducting and explaining student and demonstration experiments in high school.
  • The student designs and implements appropriate demonstration experiments on the following topics: hydrogen, oxygen, water and hydrogen peroxide, halogens, chalcogens, pnictogens, elements of the carbon and boron groups, alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, transition and internal transition metals.
  • The student designs and implements appropriate demonstration experiments on topics in general and physical chemistry (electrochemistry, acid-base processes, pH measurements, chemical kinetics, thermodynamics.
