Experiments in teaching chemistry II is a laboratory subject that follows the subject Experiments in teaching chemistry I, mainly acquired by laboratory skills. It also follows or complements the theoretical courses of organic chemistry and biochemistry, namely: Organic chemistry I (b) and II (b), Biochemistry I, Organic chemistry III (b), Biochemistry III (b) and also Didactics of organic chemistry and Didactics of biochemistry.
The course is focused on experiments in the field of organic chemistry and biochemistry, which are didactically processed, it is paid to the correct execution and explanation of individual experiments. Experiments are suitable for demonstration and laboratory activities of pupils. Last update: Petrželová Simona, RNDr., Ph.D. (25.10.2019)

4th year, summer semester, practical seminar 30 hours ECTS credits The lecture and seminars of the organic are followed by the school chemical experiments of the organic chemistry and biochemistry. These experiments are prepared as didacticaly compiled experiments suitable for the high school educational process. The experiments are divided into six thematical groups: 1) The alkans, alkens and alkins, cyclic or not and theirs preparations, reactions and characteristics. 2) The halogen and nitrogen derivatives of the organic compounds; the polymers 3) The hydroxy derivatives, ethers and carbonyl compouns; sugars 4) The caboxyl acids and theirs derivatives, aminoacids. 5) The proteins and theirs enzymatic functions 6) The food. The practical seminars are hold in four-hours block once in a fortnight. During each seminar students carry out the experiments of one of the thematical group, so during whole semester the students acquire all the necessary skills for the experiment realizations for high schools. The aim of this subject is to acquire the skills necessary for the teacher to be able carry out or conduct the high schools experiments with the strong emphasis on the education of the "every day and ecological " organic chemistry and biochemistry .
