This is an advanced course concerning vibrational spectroscopy. The main emphasis is focused on the design of modern instrumentation and the practical techniques of sample handling, data handling and interpretation of infrared and Raman spectra. The course is intended for Master and PhD students.

The course is divided into following parts:
- design of infrared spectrophotometers - dispersive and FTIR;
- sample handling in infrared spectroscopy, conventional and reflectance techniques (ATR, DRIFTS, RAIRS, specular reflectance), infrared microspectroscopy and microscopy, photoacoustic spectroscopy, MID and NIR spectroscopy, hyphenated techniques, etc.;
- design of Raman spectrophotometers, sample handling in Raman spectroscopy;
- interpretation of vibrational spectra of crystals, site group analysis, factor group analysis, etc.;
- selected applications of vibrational spectroscopy.

- teorie vibrační spektroskopie (spektra - atomová, molekulová; změny poloh pásů; šířka pásů; tvar pásů; spektrální oblasti infračevené spektroskopie - kombinační pásy, overtony, resonance, ...)
- konstrukce infračervených spektrometrů - disperzních a FTIR
- příprava vzorků v infračervené spektroskopii, konvenční a reflektanční techniky (ATR, DRIFTS, RAIRS, spekulární reflektance), infračervená mikrospektroskopie a mikroskopie, fotoakustická spektroskopie, emisní spektroskopie, spojené techniky ...
- konstrukce Ramanových spektrometrů, příprava vzorků v Ramanově spektroskopii
- rezonanční Ramanovy techniky (RRS, SERS, SERRS)
- zobrazovací techniky IR a Ramanovy spektroskopie
- techniky nelineární Ramanovy spektroskopie (CSRS, SRGS, IRS, CARS)
