Annotation -
Foundation: Atomic and molecular structure. Chemical bond. Molecular orbitals of diatomic and polyatomic molecules. Molecular shape and molecular symmetry. Bonding in ionic solids. Geometries of crystal lattices, point and space groups. Basic structure types of crystals. Orbital symmetry and reaction mechanism. Fundamental types of reactions - precipitation, acid-base, redox and radical reactions.
Systematic chemistry of elements. Main group elements. Transition elements and coordination compounds.
Some special topics. Catalysis, organometalic compounds, metal ions in biological environments, solid-state chemistry.

The exam is combined - oral and written form.

The electronic structure of atoms, chemical bond. Molecular orbitals of diatomic and polyatomic molecules. Molecular shape and molecular symmetry.

Crystals

Bonding in ionic solids. Geometries of crystal lattices, point and space groups. Basic structure types of crystals. Orbital symmetry and reaction mechanism.

Solutions and Reactions

Solubility. Fundamental types of reactions - precipitation, acid-base, redox and radical reactions.
