Syllabus -

Characteristics of the physical and chemical environment, energy budget concept, data collection and evaluation. Vertical and horizontal changes in the atmosphere, micro- and macro-climates. Homeostatic responses to physical environment, heat, barometric pressure, gravitational forces, radiation, auditory inputs. Homeostatic responses to chemical environment, natural constituents, contaminants. Adaptation, indices of stress adaptive limits. Nutritional factors, diet induced thermogenesis. Psychosocial environment. Interaction of environments in health and disease.
