Practical course from cytogenetics is focused on methods of basic cytogenetics, namely production of chromosome preparations from plant and animal tissues, banding techniques, and detection of nucleolus organizer regions by silver staining. Obtained mitotic and meiotic preparations are evaluated. Associated excursion into laboratory of human cytogenetics is focused on techniques of molecular cytogenetics as well as computer analysis of chromosome images.
