Fundamental Theology 1 deals with questions of the identity of the discipline, its nature, its aims and its method. We begin the course by analyzing the anthropological starting points of the discipline. This is followed by a passage devoted to the category of revelation and its complementary notion of faith. Let us introduce some significant models of revelation in contemporary theology and we will devote ourselves to the credibility of the Christian revelation. Finally, the course goes to the subject of fundamental Christology, more specifically to the anthropological, historical and theological credibility of Jesus of Nazareth.

Předmět Fundamentální teologie 1 se věnuje otázkám identity fundamentálně-teologické disciplíny, její povaze, cílům a metodě. Kurs zahajujeme analýzou antropologických východisek disciplíny. Následuje pasáž věnovaná kategorii zjevení (revelatio)a jí komplementárnímu pojmu víry. Představíme některé významné modely zjevení v současné teologii a budeme se věnovat kredibilitě křesťanského zjevení. Posléze kurs přechází k problematice fundametální christologie, konkrétněji k antropologické, historické a teologické kredibilitě Ježíše Nazaretského.

Fundamental Theology 1 deals with questions of the identity of the discipline of Fundamental Theology, its nature, aims and method. The course begins with an analysis of the anthropological foundations of the discipline. This is followed by a section devoted to the category of revelation (revelatio) and its complementary concept of faith. We will introduce some of the major models of revelation in contemporary theology and consider the credibility of Christian revelation. The course then moves on to the problems of fundamental Christology, in particular the anthropological, historical and theological credibility of Jesus of Nazareth.

The aim of the course is

(a) to help students to orient themselves to the constitution of Dei Verbum and to reflect it adequately in the context of theological developments of the last 60 years (especially the relevant encyclicals and documents of the ICT).

b) to introduce students to the basic theological proposal of Salvatore Pié-Ninot concerning the credibility of Jesus of Nazareth and the meaning of the Christian faith

c) The course will have a special focus on the mystery and reality of the resurrection of Jesus and on the possibilities of his historical, anthropological and theological credibility.

Cílem předmětu je:

a) pomoci studentům zorientovat se v konstituci Dei verbum a adekvátně ji reflektovat v kontextu teologického vývoje posledních 60 let (zejména příslušných encyklik a dokumentů MTK). 

b) seznámit studenty s fundamentálně-teologickým návrhem Salvatora Pié-Ninota týkajícím se kredibility Ježíše z Nazareta a smysluplnosti křesťanské víry

c) zvláštním cílem předmětu je tajemství a realita Ježíšova zmrtvýchvstání a otázka po možnostech jeho historické, antropologické a teologické věrohodnosti

Teaching methods

Kromě obvyklých akademických přednášek budeme společně číst a diskutovat vybrané texty; každý frekventant bude v průběhu semestru prezentovat písemně vypracovaný elaborát na dohodnuté (či vyučujícím určené) téma a čelit dotazům spolužáků. Při výkadu i četbě se očekává od studentů actuosa participatio.
