Annotation -
The semester will be focus on the interpretation of selected works of art in a broader context, with a special focus on 17th and 18th century mural painting in Bohemia and Moravia. The lectures will be conceived as methodologically sophisticated in-depth probes into specific cases of interpretation of art monuments. The course will be place great emphasis on deepening knowledge of sacral and profane iconography, on the interconnectedness of space and the chosen iconographic themes.

The aim of the course is to gain detailed knowledge of Baroque painting in the Czech lands, to master the specifics of order iconography and iconology etc.
