Annotation -
The lectures focus on the artistic decoration of early modern royal and noble residences with special attention to their thematic component, which will be presented as a whole in the form of case studies. This is not, therefore, a chronological development, although the individual units will be followed, if possible, in chronological order. We will focus on those centres that were formative for the artistic commissions in the Bohemian lands during the 16th and 17th centuries. Among the centres to be studied will be selected examples from Italy, German and Austrian countries.
