LEARNING GOALS:

  skills of reading and writing simple texts are developed to practice listening and speaking skills in order to be able to communicate effectively in everyday situations

  listening comprehension and conversation is emphasized; the students will be able to:

- understand and use basic expressions and phrases

- greet others, introduce themselves, exchange information about their place of origin, their profession, their family and friends

- give and take directions, order at a restaurant, tell the time, make hotel reservations, use different means of transportation, book tickets for transportation and entertainment

- use numbers

- talk about the weather and things that they like or dislike

- use formal and informal speech

 to develop cultural awareness
