The course is held in the Czech language. The course is focused on political systems in Central and East Europe with strong or stronger position of president (firstly Poland, Lithuania, Romania, Ukraine).

Aim of the course -

The aim of the course is to reach understanding relationship between the structure of the executive power and other branches of government, the influence of president´s personality on power structure, and to analyze the political environment in which president has to operate.

Syllabus - Czech

Kurs bude zaměřen i na historii přímé volby prezidenta a na to, jaký má přímá volba vliv na reálné postavení prezidenta v politickém systému - nejen výhradně v postkomunistických zemích.

Struktura kurzu:

1) Teorie (prezidentský, parlamentní a poloprezidentský systém, jejich znaky a historický vývoj).

2) Přímá volba, její historie. (Ludvík Napoleon Bonaparte; přímá volba ve Výmarské republice, Adolf Hitler v přímých prezidentských volbách.)

3) Konkrétní případy z oblasti střední a východní Evropy: Polsko, Litva, Rumunsko a Ukrajina.
