The course is designed for all students of bachelor’s and master’s studies who want to review and solidify their knowledge of French before the beginning of the academic year and thus to become better prepared for the entrance test to the general course of French, which is a prerequisite for enrollment in the course JLB035. We recommend the course especially to students at the A2 level who have not passed the placement test in recent years or to those students who have not had the opportunity to practice French for a long time. The course is not intended for beginners. The course will take place from September 18 to September 22 (Jinonice, C420).

Aim of the course -

The aim of this course is to:

·         consolidate basic grammatical structures through a comprehensive overview and thorough practice in written and oral delivery

·         improve communication skills and gain greater confidence in speaking

·         learn how to better understand both spoken and written discourse

·         become acquainted with new types of tests such as a C-test or TOEFL test

One-week seminar with intensive classwork, based primarily on authentic didactic materials of teachers, such as videos, texts and recordings. These materials will be regularly uploaded to SIS files. Work in pairs or smaller groups prevails. Oral and written production as well as listening and reading comprehension are equally included in each day of intensive classes. Grammar sections are linked to the thematic ones. The last day of classes is dedicated to the sample entrance test, including individualized feedback.

regular and active participation in the seminar (daily presence is recommended due to the nature of the seminar)
