The aim of this course is to expand students' vocabulary and strengthen their grammatical knowledge (after completing this level, students should be familiar with the complete fall system). The teacher can adapt the topics to the students' needs and interests.
The course consists of 24 lessons which take place twice a week throughout the semester. One lesson lasts 80 minutes, the remaining 40 minutes are for students to complete self-study duties. It is essential to attend both lessons per week. The price of the course is 4800 Czech crowns. Students enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme do not pay for the course directly at the cash desk, as Erasmus students do, but through interfaculty financial settlement. If a student fails to attend the first two classes of the semester without excuse, his/her place will be taken by active students on the waiting list. https://fsv.cuni.cz/en/academics/language-centre/syllabi-and-timetable Last update: Frantesová Edita, Mgr. Attendance in a minimum of 18 courses out of the total number of courses is required, it is possible to have a maximum of 4 absences (whenever the student needs), additional absences only with a scanned doctor's excuse. The prerequisite for obtaining 6 credits and passing the exam is active participation in the course (70%). Active participation constitutes one third of your final grade. The exam cannot be taken online. If the student needs to return to his/her country before the end of the course, it is the student's responsibility to arrange an oral exam with the teacher. The exam can also be taken with another teacher, but only with permission from both teachers. We require an active approach, i.e. - completion of assigned tasks in class - completing assigned homework (short current world events presented each week). - The ten-minute presentation replaces the final exam, which is graded A-F.
