The aim of the subject is to deepen the knowledge of students in analytical chemistry and to prepare them for solving analytical problems with use of instrumental methods. Emphasis is laid on the ability of students to select optimal methods and appropriate procedures with regard to the nature of the analysed object and to realize the scope and limitations of instrumental methods.<br>

The subject Special Methods of Instrumental Analysis builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in the subjects: Physical Chemistry and Instrumental Methods. After completing the subject, students will be able to use the following terms in the correct context towards the analytical evaluation of inorganic and organic substances using instrumental methods: electroanalytical methods - pulse voltammetry and dissolution voltammetry, amperometry and ion-selective electrodes, electromigration methods - capillary zone electrophoresis, micellar electrokinetic chromatography, isoelectric focusing, capillary isotachophoresis, capillary electrochromatography, modern trends in liquid chromatography, luminescence methods - fluorimetry, chemiluminescence, atomic absorption spectrophotometry, Raman spectrometry, mass spectrometry, automation - flow injection analysis, sequential injection analysis.
