The undergraduates get acquainted with the basic concepts and ideas of system theory and the principles of its application in regulation and control, in theory of information, computer technology and modelling. They get practice in the usage of personal computers, oriented mainly to text documents (MS Word) and experimental data processing (MS Excel).

Teoretická část předmětu seznamuje studenty nejprve se základy teorie dynamických systémů s důrazem na regulace, modelování a vysvětluje hlavní pojmy teorie informace. Dále se zaměřuje na principy činnosti počítačů, jejich vývoj, současné technické parametry a možnosti využití v praxi. V praktické výuce studenti získávají resp. prohlubují znalosti práce na osobním počítači v prostředí Windows a podrobněji se seznamují s textovým editorem MS Word a tabulkovým procesorem MS Excel.
