Annotation -
The subject is focused on the providing of the theoretical information about the preparation, control, preclinical testing, and clinical application of radiolabelled compounds. The basic topics of the subject includes atom structure, types of radioactive decay, the interaction of ionizing radiation with absorbing matter and particularly biological systems, the summary of experimentally and clinically used radionuclides and their production, methods of direct and indirect radiolabelling of biologically active compounds with the emphasis on radiometal complexes, methods of quality control, pharmacopeial requirements on radiopharmaceuticals, and clinical application of biological active radiopharmaceuticals in radiotherapy, radiodiagnosis and theranostics.
