Annotation -

Advanced Statistics addresses standard and modern statistical methods that are popular in pharmaceutical research. Experience with basic statistical procedures and the resulting interpretation of results is expected. Students will learn about other methods offered by the GraphPad software, in which specific examples from pharmacy and related fields are practiced.

Course completion requirements -

The course requires to pass a credit test, which consists in performing statistical analyzes before the PC in GraphPad. The analyzes are analogous to those discussed at the seminars. Every student has a tmost 3 tries.

- descriptive statistics for quantitative and qualitative data and their visualization

- normal and lognormal distribution, tests of (log)normality, qq-plots

- curve fitting for nonlinear agonist/inhibitor models

- simple and multiple linear regression

- simple and multiple logistic regression

- survival analysis

- t-tests and nonparametric counterparts

- ANOVA, one- and two-way and nonparametric counterparts

- Chi-square and exact Fisher test

- Correlation coefficient and autocorrelation
