Requirements to the exam

Important information for Dentistry  students

 

The winter  term is finished by completing the credit.

 Credit  requirements:

 

Epidemiology: Full practical lessons attendance. Lesson replacement, its content and form needs to be specified in agreement with the Department of Epidemiology.

 

Infectology: One lesson absence can be replaced by self-study of a particular topic. Lessons replacement is required in case of  two or more lesson absences, its content and the form needs to be specified in agreement with the Department of Infectology in order to guarantee the  full range of knowledge of particular topics. The semester is finished by written exam. During the practical lessons and lectures infectious diseases topics are continuously discussed and students´ active involvement and adequate knowledge are expected.

 

 

Any changes in timetable can be found on the message board at the Infectious diseases department.

 

Infectious diseases department rules for students:

1.      All student attending practical lessons at IDD must be changed into clothes provided using their own shoes. Teacher´s instructions must be followed at all times.

2.      Before entering the patient´s room hands disinfection must be performed with hand sanitizer provided, after physical examination of the patient hands must be washed with the soap, dried with the towel and disinfected again.

3.      Students will be advised when to use personal protective equipment (masks, coats, gloves etc.).

4.      Smoking, eating and drinking is strictly prohibited during the practical lessons. Only toilets reserved for the department stuff must be used by students.

5.      Every manipulation with biological material is strictly prohibited unless otherwise instructed.

6.      Students are required to report any skin injury or skin and mucous membrane contamination to the teacher without further delay.

7.      Entering the Infectious Diseases Department is forbidden for pregnant women and mothers 6 months postpartum. In case of pregnancy or recent child delivery the individual study plan will be provided. 

8.      Taking photographs, copying, printing and scanning of medical records and clinical documentation is strictly forbidden.

2. Epidemiology: Infections transmitted by blood (HIV,HBV,HCV), procedure at a professional injury. Use of desinfectants and sterilization of instruments in stomatology consulting room. Specific prophylaxis, advantage, risks of vaccination, practial procedure in vaccine administration, sera. Treatment of anaphylactic shock. 3. Infectology: Childhood and it´s specifity in therapy of infecious diseases. Dehydratation. (Kosina 2+1) Practical training in patients. Credit in epidemiology and Infectology. EC4
