Annotation -
As part of this elective course, students will explore the development of medicine from antiquity to the present day, set against the backdrop of significant events in both world and Czech history. Attention will also be devoted to key figures in various medical disciplines, both in the Czech context and internationally. The course aims to deepen students’ knowledge of the history of medicine and to highlight its interconnections with major milestones in societal development.

  - Perspectives on child health in different historical periods, pediatrics as a distinct field

6. Milestones of Modern Medicine

  - Scientific discoveries and revolutionary inventions in modern medicine, the development of antibiotics and their impact on infectious disease treatment, technological innovations and telemedicine
