Annotation -
Physical performance diagnostics or exercise diagnostics deals with measuring and evaluating the response of
the human body to different types of exercise. Students will learn to perform stress tests such as spiroergometry,
lactate test (on a cycle or running ergometer), Wingate test, Bruce test, Balke protocol or dynamometry of different
muscle parts. The aim of the course will be to deepen understanding of the body's physiological responses to
exercise, to gain key knowledge for effective diagnosis of fitness and exercise tolerance, and to gain real-world,
practical skills to implement fitness assessments. This knowledge can be applied not only to the planning of
training programs to improve physical performance, but also to the assessment of patients' ability to undergo
major surgical procedures.
