Toxicology deals with the interaction of xenobiotics and a living organism, it is a subject summarizing basic
information about substances that negatively affect and damage a living organism. The one-semester elective course Medical Toxicology builds on the information obtained from the general toxicology seminars during the pharmacology seminars in the winter semester. Introduces students to the fate of toxic substances in the body and their effects on the body. It expands the knowledge of toxic substances and intoxications that future physicians may encounter in their practice. In this course, students will become familiar with various toxicants and toxidromes of substances that cannot be discussed in detail within the standard curriculum of Pharmacology II due to the limited time available. Emphasis is placed on intoxications that are of clinical significance, including their diagnosis, treatment, and practical implications. Last update: Křikavová Lenka, Ing. (15.05.2024)
