English

The aim of the course is to deepen knowledge of the Czech language (extend vocabulary and grammar). Students will concentrate on medical topics (dentition, oral diseases, dental tools), they will be learning communication skills for practice in hospital (doctor–nurse–patient).

Cílem kurzu je prohloubení znalostí českého jazyka (rozšíření slovní zásoby a gramatiky). Studenti se zaměří na medicínská témata (chrup, onemocnění dutiny ústní, dentální nástroje), osvojí si komunikační dovednosti pro praxi v nemocnici (lékař–sestra–pacient).

Learning outcomes

English

Upon completion of the course, the learner will be able to:

·         recognize and name types of teeth, parts and layers of teeth, type of dentition;

·         ask the patient about the problems in eruption of teeth, about his/her habits regarding dental hygiene;

·         recognise and name dental hygiene instruments (and their types) and briefly describe what they are used for;

·         recognise and name the types of tooth decay (by site of decay, by tooth layer and by tooth pulp);

·         ask the patient about the symptoms of dental caries, inflammation of the tooth pulp and inflammation of the dentition and briefly describe these diseases;

·         instruct the patient on his diagnosis and treatment;

·         recognise and name dental instruments or appliances; ask the nurse for help and justify the request;

·         be able to use the phrases used when a patient comes and leaves the doctor´s office;

·         ask the patient about their health problems and understand basic oral health problems;

·         take the patient's dental history;

·         name which parts of the body to examine and which problems to look for;

·         communicate with the patient and health care personnel about the patient's oral health, especially dental health;

·         ask the patient in detail about pain;

·         ask the patient about items in the medical record for dentistry and write them down;

·         examine the patient's dentition and write/dictate the results on the record sheet;

·         use basic instructions when examining/treating a patient.

Po absolvování předmětu studující dokáže:

·         poznat a pojmenovat druhy zubů, části a vrstvy zubu, typ chrupu;

·         zeptat se pacienta na problémy při prořezávání chrupu, na jeho návyky ohledně dentální hygieny;

·         poznat a pojmenovat nástroje dentální hygieny (a jejich typy) a stručně popsat, k čemu slouží;

·         poznat a pojmenovat druhy zubního kazu (podle místa kazu, podle vrstvy zubu a podle zubní dřeně);

·         zeptat se pacienta na symptomy zubního kazu, zánětu zubní dřeně a zánětu ozubice a stručně tyto nemoci popsat;

·         instruovat pacienta o jeho diagnóze a léčbě;

·         poznat a pojmenovat stomatologické nástroje či přístroje, požádat sestru o pomoc a zdůvodnit požadavek;

·         umí používat fráze používané při příchodu a odchodu pacienta;

·         zeptat se pacienta na jeho zdravotní problémy a rozumět základním potížím v oblasti dutiny ústní;

·         odebrat pacientovi stomatologickou anamnézu;

·         pojmenovat, které části těla vyšetřuje a které potíže hledá;

·         komunikovat s pacientem i zdravotnickým personálem o pacientově stavu dutiny ústní a zejména chrupu;

·         podrobně se zeptat pacienta na bolest;

·         zeptat se pacienta na položky ve zdravotním záznamu pro stomatologii a zapsat je;

·         vyšetřit chrup pacienta a zapsat/nadiktovat výsledky do záznamového archu;

·         používat základní pokyny při vyšetření/ošetření pacienta.

WS+SS: Credit: attendance (max. 2 absences/semester), successful completion of continuous tests, credit test and completion of assignments.

Examination: written and oral parts. The student proceeds to the oral part after successful completion of the written test.

Continuous, credit and exam tests must be completed at a minimum of 70%, the number of attempts is 3.
