Requirements to the exam -

Oral exam (1 question orthopaedics, 1 traumatology, 2 x-rays or some orthopaedic pictures recognition),  passed test 

In case of distance examination  (3 questions).

 

The test will be performed after practicals.

Syllabus -

Syllabus practice of orthopaedics and traumatology of the locomotor apparatus 

Practices are focused on analyses of case reports, excursions in operation theatres and outpatient clinics.


1. General traumatology
a / basic classification of fractures,
b / clinical image
c / basic clinical (physical) and radiological examination
d / principles of internal osteosynthesis, principles of external osteosynthesis (external fixation)
c / Differences in the treatment of fractures in childhood and adulthood
e / complications - infection, compartment syndrome
f / treatment of a polytraumatized  patient according ATLS protocol
2. Injury of the upper limb
a / injury of the rotator cuff
b / shoulder and acromioclavicular joint dislocation and treatment
c / fractures of the proximal humerus
d / elbow injuries in adults and children
e / forearm fractures
f /  injuries of the hand
3. Injury of the pelvis and the femur
a / acetabular fractures

1st lecture: General traumatology

 

2nd lecture: Injury of the shoulder and the shoulder girdle, injuries of the humerus, the elbow, and the forearm

3rd lecture: Injury of the femur, the tibia and the fibula

4th  lecture  Spine injury

5th lecture: Injury of the pelvis and  the acetabulum

6th lecture: Congenital malformations, metabolic diseases, rheumatoid arthritis and
other arthropathies

7th lecture: Osteoarthritis - diagnostics, treatment and complications

8th lecture: Paediatric orthopaedics – developmental dysplasia of the hip, congenital malformation of the foot, PEC (clubfoot)

9th lecture: Orthopaedic disorders and spinal injuries

10th. lecture: Bone tumours, bone and joint infections

There are new studying materials added in moodle (please check also the czech version). You have to apply for the course in the moodle application (you can sign in by your own, in case of troubles do not hesitate to ask or inform us).

There is an oral exam and practicals (xrays, case reports, pictures) .

 
You should have a good and stable  internet connection, camera and microfone.  You should be visible on camera  including your hands and working table and the nearest surroundings during through the whole exam and have the microfone on. You should share your screen during whole exam as well.
If You have a phone number, it is good to let us know in case of connection problem we can call you. (you can put it as a comment when you apply for exam, for example  that  we can make Whassapp connection if You will be abroad or if You have a foreing phone number).
In case of lost connection we will try to reconnect or call You via mobile (Whatsapp for example).
In case of suspition on cheating, You have failed. 
 
The exam will start ..... (usually  8:00-8:30)
