Syllabus

Since the academic year 2013/2014, a new 10-day teaching block of the clinical field (designated as K10 - Clinical 10 Days) is available for students of the 5th year of the Master's study programme General Medicine - teaching in Czech and English language according to the student's choice and the possibilities of individual clinical centres. Students will participate in routine clinical operations under the guidance of a named assistant/resident doctor. The student will get acquainted with routine day of the clinic/department, will be present at specialist outpatient examinations, will perform daily rounds under supervision, will attend seminars, indicative rounds, X-ray rounds, etc. The student will choose the field that he or she finds most attractive among the clinical disciplines (according to the capacities of the individual workplaces) and will then devote himself or herself to work that should resemble as much as possible the actual work of the secondary doctor in the given department. This will enable him to effectively integrate the knowledge gained from different disciplines and the system of "shadowing the doctor" and eventually "shadowing the patient" to familiarize himself in detail with the operation of the given department/clinic. At the same time, he will gain a deeper insight into the field in which he could potentially work after graduation.
