Module Neurobehavioral Sciences II (MNS II, 5th year) follows MNV I. There are 168 hours in MNV II covering clinical aspects of a) psychiatry together with relevant topics from pharmacology; b) neurology together with relevant topics from neuroradiology, and nuclear medicine; and c) neurosurgery. There are 17 seminars and 52 practices available during the 5-week course in both winter and summer semesters and 15 lectures once a year in the winter semester. Students obtain 3 separate credits (neurology, psychiatry, neurosurgery) as a part of Neurobehavioral Sciences II. Requirements for credit from Neurology: 80% presence during practical training (inclusive of investigations of the nervous system: EMG, evoked potentials, EEG, CSF, imaging methods, ultrasound) and during obligatory seminars is required and passing bedside practical exam: neurological examination, syndromes, topical diagnostics, etiology, indication and taking advantage of investigations, therapy. Requirements for credit from Psychiatry: 80% presence during psychiatric practical training, and pharmacology. Also, students must pass practical part of the State Exam in the form of Psychiatric Report of the patient. Requirements for credit from Neurosurgery: 80% presence during practical training The final exam from NS II is in the form of the State Exam from Neurobehavioural Sciences. The exam consists of two parts. 1. Oral exam from Medical Psychology and Communication and 2. Commisional oral exam from Psychiatry and Neurology. Student is allowed to take part in the commisional psychiatry and neurology part only after successful result in Medical Psychology.
