Annotation -
The subject is taught in the second year of the program General nursing. It acquaints the students with basic terminology, philosophical background of biomedical ethics, everyday ethical problems, as well as major ethical dilemmas.

Aim of the course -

The aim of the subject is to increase the students, awareness of ethical decision making in medicine and nursing, to help students understand ethical problems and learn the basic approaches to their solving. The subject should also help the students formulate and defend their own ethical statements.

Requirements to the exam - Czech

Podmínky pro udělení zápočtu za letní semestr:

1. 75% docházka na semináře, t.j. minimálně 5 seminářů za semestr

2. skupinová práce na zadaném úkolu, osobní účast na prezentaci tématu s celou skupinou podle harmonogramu seminářů. Témata a časový harmonogram prezentací budou sděleny při první hodině semestru.

 Zkouška za oba semestry formou písemného testu.

Ethical issues at the end of life - palliative care, Advance directives, euthanasia and physician assisted suicide
Care of a patient with irreversible vegetative syndrome, forgoing and withdrawing life sustaining treatment
