Annotation -
During the surgical practice, students focus on deepening and consolidating both theoretical and practical skills acquired during their studies. The aim of the practice is to develop an appropriate relationship with the patient and to adopt a comprehensive approach to their health problems. The student is expected to work independently under supervision of a surgeon. During the practice, the student should broaden their knowledge of examination methods, diagnostics, treatment in surgery. Another objective is the strengthening of student´s clinical skills – to obtain relevant medical history from the patient, perform a complete physical examination, propose or establish a diagnosis, propose further diagnostic procedures if necessary, propose or determine therapy, and practice technical skills (manual dexterity) as well as professional prerequisites for the medical profession (respect for the patient’s dignity, adherence to medical confidentiality).
