The course is aimed at improving the language skills of foreign students in order to prepare them for communication with the Czech patients, so that students gradually acquire:
a) the basics of grammar (especially the most commonly used grammatical phenomena; grammar is always taught in direct relation to the practical use of the language)
b) vocabulary necessary for everyday communication in Czech
c) specific vocabulary needed for basic communication with the Czech patients in hospital

Credit for the Winter Semester Credit is awarded based on the fulfilment of the following criteria: 1. Successful completion of two partial tests (midterm + final) on the Moodle 3 platform, each with a score of at least 70%. 2. Attendance: a maximum of 5 absences per semester 3. No retakes are allowed for the in-semester tests, regardless of the reason for absence or failure. If any of the above conditions are not met, the student may obtain credit only by: · successfully passing a comprehensive credit test (minimum score 70%), · the credit test can only be taken if the minimum attendance requirement (6 sessions) is fulfilled · students have a maximum of three attempts during the exam period. Credit for the Summer Semester Credit is awarded based on the fulfilment of the following criteria: 1. Final Oral Exam Requirements The oral exam consists of an analyisis of a case study and questions related to the 2nd year syllabus Alternative Option for Fluent Czech/Slovak Speakers Students who are fluent in Czech or Slovak may, upon agreement with the instructor: · prepare a detailed case study in Czech according to a provided template during the semester, · present their case study in the simulation centre or to the instructor.
