Upon completion of this course, students should be able to: • describe health psychology and its role • Understand the main research methods used in health psychology • Be able to define and describe the most common health problems that people face in various aspects of their lives • Identify the role of the psychologist in the clinical setting • Define the role of health psychology in improving public health

Aim of the course

The aim of the course is to provide an overview of health psychology, including a brief history of the subject as well as current trends and research. Students will learn about the psychological factors affecting health including: emotional, cognitive, behavioral and social aspects. Students will learn research methods in health psychology and learn about methods and interventions used to improve health.
