Aim of the course

On completion of the course students:

will be familiar with the population approach to the study of health and illness
will understand social and economic determinants of population health
will gain knowledge of the most important health care policy issues and their implication for practice in
medicine
will be informed about models of world health systems, their financing, management and
administration
will be able to identify strengths and weaknesses of particular health system
will be familiar with the main principles of the Czech health care system
will be familiar with specific social-health problems of the vulnerable social groups (elderly, children)

Requirements to the exam

Credits: In order to get credits for the course students are expected to attend the classes (one absence is accepted - any reason) and to successfully pass an interim multiple choice test. 

The test will include 15 questions with one or more correct answers (45 points total, for all questions at least 1 answer is correct). The test is passed when the result is between 36-45 points. Two attempts are allowed. 

In the case of more than one absence, it will be necessary to write an essay on the topic related to the course scope.
