Preclinical dentistry is a preclinical subject leading to the understanding of basic facts of all specialties of dentistry: operative dentistry, prosthetic dentistry, oral surgery, periodontology, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, preventive dentistry.
Students learn about principles of science on dental materials used in treatment of patients, basic procedures for caries treatment, periodontal diseases, tooth extraction techniques and prosthetic appliances realization.
Knowledge of basic manipulation with devices in dental office and laboratory. Student must be able to perform examination of the patient including X-ray reading and treatment planning.

The conditions for obtaining the credit.
1) Only one absence is tolerated for major reasons and must be excused (medical report, incapacity, serious family situation). The student will be obligated to prepare a presentation on the missing topic.
2) To master practical skills according to the sylabus .
3) It is mandatory to obtain a 75% success rate in seminars and on all tests throughout the semester.
4) It is mandatory to achieve at least 75% on the FINAL credit test (in 1st or 2nd attempt) (classification: A-100-95%, B-90-85%, C-80-75%, D-70% and less). In the case that 70% or less has been attained on the second attempt, an oral examination with the examinating board follows as the final option. A lack of knowledge means the credit will not be granted and it is a reason for repeating the semester or ending the studies.
5) For classified credit and final exam are valid the same condition (see point N. 5 )
