The study subject gives concise overview of the field of ophthalmology in the form of lectures and practical workshops, where quick orientation in most common symptoms, clinical diagnostics and importantly, differential diagnosis and treatment of key clinical units in ophthalmology are highlighted.

Syllabus

Basic knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the eye, signs and symptoms of eye diseases, orbit, eyelids and lacrimal system, external diseases and cornea, intraocular inflammations, ocular tumours, retina and vitreous, lens, diseases of the orbit, neuro-ophthalmology, immunology, pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, glaucoma, trauma, optics and refraction.

List of practical skills:

Basic knowledge of ophthalmology and clinical practice, examination of the anterior segment of the eye, slit lamp examination, ophthalmoscopy, examination of visual acuity, first aid and emergency in eye diseases and principles of pharmacotherapy of eye diseases.
