Preclinical dentistry is a preclinical subject leading to the understanding of basic facts of all specialties of dentistry: operative dentistry, prosthetic dentistry, oral surgery, periodontology, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, preventive dentistry.
Students learn about principles of science on dental materials used in treatment of patients, basic procedures for caries treatment, periodontal diseases, tooth extraction techniques and prosthetic appliances realization.
Knowledge of basic manipulation with devices in dental office and laboratory. Student must be able to perform examination of the patient including X-ray reading and treatment planning.

Podmínky udělení zápočtu. 1) Je.povolena pouze jedna absence omluvená závažným důvodem ( lékařská zpráva, pracovní neschopnost, závažné rodinné situace). Je doporučeno chybějící praktikum nahradit, příp. vypracovat prezentaci na téma chybějícího praktika dle domluvy s vyučujícím. 2) Vypracovat prezentaci na zadané téma. 3) V průběžných testech dosáhnout alespoň 70% úspěšnosti ( klasifikace : A- 100%, B- 90 %, C- 80-70%, D- 60%). 4) U zápočtového testu (2 pokusy) dosáhnout alespoň 75% správných odpovědí ( klasifikace: A- 95%, B- 85%, C- 75%, D- 70%). Při úspěšnosti 70% a méně u druhého pokusu následuje jako poslední možnost ústní přezkoušení komisí. Při nedostatečných znalostech zápočet není udělen.
